About Us

OUR VISION

To provide accessible fitness and exercise programmes to the Orkney Community, improving physical fitness and mental wellbeing

and reducing social isolation.

Orkney Dance & Fitness Ltd (ODAF) provides dance and fitness

classes to the local rural West Mainland community on the

Orkney Islands, in response to the following social problems:

RURAL COMMUNTIES

Orkney Dance and Fitness Ltd are passionate about bringing classes to rural areas in Orkney and utilising Community run Centres.

SOCIAL ISOLATION

In response to increasing social isolation in older adults, we provide social cafes at the end of our specialised

classes to combat social isolation.

INACTIVITY

As a result of increased inactivity in the rural community, we provide accessible exercise classes to

suit all abilities, to help people to get and stay fit.

Our Beneficiaries

  • Men and women aged 50-85 in the West Mainland.

  • Those diagnosed with Parkinson’s in Orkney.

  • Children between the ages of 0-12 in the West Mainland.

  • General population looking for a fun way to exercise.

 

Our Story

Orkney Dance & Fitness Ltd was officially registered as a Social Enterprise on 22nd March 2022 however founder and Director Donna Cuthbertson has been teaching dance and fitness classes all over the country since 2000.

 

Over the past couple of years ODAF has grown from one person, to a team of seven who have the community fitness at the heart and soul of all we do and share the same vision of accessible inclusive fitness fun for all.

We now currently deliver at least 12 classes a week, some of which are fully or partially subsidised. We offer classes at competitive prices also offering a variety of membership's as well as online classes, one to ones, party bookings, pop up classes and specialised classes both on Orkney mainland and some of the Isles.
